Most teenagers spend their free time playing video games, watching sports, and keeping up with the Kardashians. But for Sierra Leone native Kelvin Doe, nothing beats a day spent inventing.
Kelvin became a self-taught engineer at just 13 years old, digging through trash for parts to re-purpose in his inventions. Now 19, he has built his own radio station, worked alongside PhD MIT Media Lab students, and lectured at Harvard.
Check out his inspirational story in the video below.
Kelvin is a wonderful reminder that we are never truly limited by our situation, if we only find a way to persevere until we succeed. If you have an inspirational college story you would love to share, check out the Write For Us page to submit your piece.
